The Hengist is in the heart of beautiful Aylesford village. The Grade II listed building was originally two houses, and was converted into a restaurant in 1980.
Downstairs is an informal brasserie-style dining room with bar which offers casual all-day dining, serving lunch at midday right through until closing time. Decorated in a traditional style but with a quirky twist, downstairs is the place to come in for a coffee or a relaxed lunch.
Upstairs we have two formal dining rooms - the Conservatory and the Crystal Room. These rooms offer a more formal, intimate dining option and either room can be hired out individually.
The Horsa Bar is our cocktail bar and our bar staff will be delighted to prepare a wide range of cocktails to suit your taste. In the warmer months, our lovely gardens are open for your pleasure, with distinct areas for eating and drinking.
Our chefs have put together a menu which is seasonal and prepared using the best ingredients, from local sources wherever possible.
Travel is not a problem as we are a 10-minute walk from Aylesford train station and there is a large, free public car park directly behind us.
Above all, the Hengist is accessible for the whole community & we offer a children's menu for our smaller guests!
