Menus
At Hengist the three owners manifest this in spades, Richard Phillips the well known television chef is famously passionate. Whether that be for the zeal with which he sources the very finest local, seasonal and wherever possible sustainable produce or indeed the élan with which he designs the menus, which in turn are carefully crafted by Richard and Hengist Head Chef Daniel Hatton.
Passion however is not restricted simply to the food with Hengist but oozes out of every pore of the business, with partners like Kevin James and Paul Smith who have lavished extreme care and attention to detail in the décor and fittings Hengist continues to exceed expectation.
The modern European cuisine at Hengist uses the traditional ingredients that are expected of this continental gastronomy, but with modern twists and the occasional inspirational ingredient.
The resulting flavours when sampled in this luxurious and sophisticated setting will ensure you a splendid event, whatever the occasion
Aylesford is said to be the oldest village in England. Its name comes from 'Angle's Ford' - the place where the county's first invaders crossed the river Medway. Brothers Hengist and Horsa, leaders of the invasion, landed in Aylesford in 449AD, where they set themselves up as the first kings of Kent.
We hope that you enjoy the dining experience that is Hengist……
